Cornerstone
Backing up to Telluride, Colorado, a 6,000-acre parcel of land brimming with mountain wildflowers and old-growth aspens overlooks the San Juan, Cimmaron, and West Elk Mountains. With this stunning palette as a backdrop, MAI Design Group found only one architectural style appropriate for the Cornerstone clubhouse: a mountain lodge. A modest, 6,000-square-foot, clubhouse nestled in an alpine valley serves as the initial facility. The main clubhouse will lie several hundred feet up the mountain in clubhouse building will feature a grand, old national park Lodge ambiance with an exterior of wood and stone, peaked slate roofs, and grandly scaled stone chimneys. Inside, the rustic Lodge feel will be achieved with stone walls, massive fireplaces, wood accents and floor-to-ceiling windows leading to dramatic mountain vistas. Other facilities in this project will feature the same wood-and-stone treatment, including a coordinated ski lodge at nearby Telluride Ski Area intended just for Cornerstone members.
