Boot Ranch
In the 1800s, German settlers put their stamp on the countryside when they built the charming town of Fredericksburg, set in Texas hill country. This area now is known for German Craftsman architecture that incorporates fieldstone, limestone, wood log siding, stucco accents, and metal roofs. The MAI Design Group team incorporated those same design concepts and materials into Boot Ranch. The “clubhouse” is a multi-building “village” set on a hill creating inviting open-air spaces. Inside, the buildings feature intricate detailing such as hand- hewn heavy timbers and trusses, and natural stone walls with heavy aggregate grout work. Other Boot Ranch highlights include an open-air covered pavilion with fire pit and seating; walkways with custom-made wrought-iron railings; and water features reminiscent of the area’s historic use of cisterns for water storage. In Boot Ranch, MAI Design Group highlighted its abilities to design a new facility that blends beautifully with historic architecture that defines the area.
